The latest update for Share Factory on PS5 will be available today: Hello, PlayStation fans. Since the launch of our free Share Factory Studio editing app for PS5 with the arrival of the console, we have been working hard to continue improving the editing experience on the console, so that players can bring to life and share their epic gameplay moments. We are pleased to announce some new updates that we have made to Share Factory for PS5 which will be available from today.
First, we have a feature that our community has asked for: the increase in the number of clips for their tracks. Below is the new clip counter that you can expect to see for your Share Factory Studio projects.
- Track 1 increase clips from 50 to 100
- Track 1 increased transitions from 49 to 99
- Music tracks increased from 12 to 24
- Track 2 increase clips from 10 to 20
We also generally improve the editing experience. Here’s a rundown of the updates coming out today for Share Factory Studio on PS5.
- A new look for Track 2 with wallpaper now available as well as added support for Layers and Frames.
- Support for HDR captures.
- Improved track display with Track 1 and Track 2 now including Icons that indicate if your clip is in HD, 4K, and/or HDR.
- Improved Clip and Screenshot management and integration with Media Gallery, allowing you to sort your videos and captures by Favorites they have marked.
These new updates will improve the current functions already available in the Share Factory Studio app for PS5, for example, now you can create videos with the resolution of up to 4K at 60fps with HDR support as well as 4K / HDR 60fps support for high-quality video clips Creator Packs, music tracks, transitions, and stickers, as well as Sound FX support.
It has been seven years since we introduced Share Factory to PS4 in April 2014, and we are also pleased to see the commitment and support of the PlayStation community for this feature. The idea for SHAREFactory came about when we learned about the video recording feature that was launching on PS4, as well as the first innovative Share button on the Dualshock 4 wireless controller.

Many of our team members have had previous experiences in game development, and some of us have also experimented with video editing and multimedia design. As gamers, we believed that the PlayStation community will have fun creating custom videos to share with their friends, so we thought it would be great if we could create a video editing application that players could use directly on their PS4.
Once the idea was formed, it didn’t take long for Share Factory to be born, and we’ve been in awe of the creativity and how gamers have been using the app ever since. We’ve listened to feedback from the PlayStation community and made improvements along the way to Share Factory over the years to make the editing experience seamless for gamers.
